Pediatric neuromuscular disorders are the result of inherited neuropathies or muscular disorders, directly affecting the function of nerves and muscles.
Led by a pediatric neurologist specializing in neuromuscular disorders, the Beaumont Pediatric Neuromuscular Clinic is an established MDA Care Center of Excellence partially supported through an MDA grant.
The clinic offers comprehensive evaluation as well as a wide-range of treatment options from prenatal to young adult age groups. One area of specialty for the clinic is offering targeted drug therapy programs for spinal muscular atrophy and Duchenne muscular
dystrophy.
